Fit for a garage sale

If only they were marshmallows
During the "nesting" period before my first baby was born, I went and bought a bunch of stuff I thought I'd need.

While I did end up using most of it, there was a small pile of things I never had much use for; some I never even took out of its packaging!

So if you're kitting out your nursery, here are some things you might think twice about buying.

Baby beanbag: not exactly essential
Cotton balls. I just assumed I'd need them. For what, I'm not really sure. Wiping a tiny bum? Then why did I buy so many wet wipes?

Microwave steriliser. At the time, I thought I was being super savvy, opting for the smaller and portable micorwave steriliser over the larger, plug-in kind. But it's never been taken out of the box. Turns out boiling water or a dishwasher are both easy options for steriliser bottles and dummies.

Bottle warmer. A deep bowl of boiling water does the same thing!

Bam Beano baby beanbag chair. I saw this on sale and was taken in by a photo of a happy looking baby sitting up in the beanbag. But I never used it and ended up selling it on Gumtree for half what I paid (after allowing it to take up a chunk of wardrobe space for 12 months).
